PRACTICAL PURPOSES

Once in awhile, my scrapbook skills and tools, including my Cricut, really come in handy for practical purposes.
Today was one such occasion.
My adorable, and very practical, husband collects those Coke Reward Points. They come in all Coke products and you can use them to enter sweepstakes, donate money to charity and get "free" things such as concert tickets and Coke souvenirs. He already has quite the collection. In fact, we often get emails from My Coke Rewards asking us to spend our points.
Anyway, now he has his brother collecting them for us. Last week, he handed us close to 50 of these box cutouts.
Since you can only redeem 150 points a week, these things have been laying all over my desk. I am sick of them -- so on a whim I decided to use my Cricut to whip up an envelope just for the Coke Points.
I could have done a very basic envelope -- but oh no! I used the beer can image from my new Father's Day cartridge and, with my Gypsy, turned it into a storage pouch that looks like a Coke can.

NEED A FATHER'S CARD QUICK AND CHEAP?

My father and my step-dad both live more than 1,000 miles away. So, my Father's Day Cards went out last week.
But in case you aren't a planner like me (see previous post), the makers of my Cricut machine have a promotion to save the day!
This week only, you can cut out 5 FREE Father's Day cards using the Cricut Craft Room online program. That's right -- there are 5 FREE cards to cut out with your Cricut machine! You need a computer and Internet to use the Craft Room, but it is very easy to use.

The 5 Free Cricut Father's Day Cards

There are 25 more cards that you can purchase for $1.99. And it sounds like the cards will stay available for purchase after this week, but I am not sure about that.
If you are in the Omaha area, I'd be glad to cut one or two for you for just the cost of paper. Email me at iteachscrap@cox.net if you are interested!

UPDATING CLASS SCHEDULES

I am a natural planner. I live to plan my life. I have lists for everything and some of lists have notes about making more lists.
So, I am in the process of trying to update my class schedules for the next few months, including July, August and September. It isn't easy when you have two kids, their activities and a husband who works weird shifts.
If there is a class you'd like to learn soon, please let me know so I can fit it in.
In the meantime, take a look at my class schedules (links located to the right of this page) for June and July. But keep in mind that July might still change a bit.

FATHER'S DAY CARD (My CCR is Working Again!)

For the past month, my Cricut Craft Room has not been working. It wouldn't let me sign on and would tell me to check my Internet connection. Well, I know my Internet works just fine (just ask my Facebook friends). But it took me a long time to break down and call Provocraft.
Within 10 minutes of calling, the problem was fixed. Somehow, a check box that allowed the Craft Room to communicate with Cricut.com got turned to "block." With one little click of the mouse, the Craft Room and I were free to create once again.
While the Craft Room was down, I kept seeing the cutest digital cartridges that I really wanted to buy. But since the Craft Room wasn't working, there wasn't much reason to purchase them.
Tonight, I broke down and bought the digital version of the Father's Day cartridge (which was actually more expensive than if I bought and waited for the physical cartridge) and one of the new July 4th cartridges. I have to say that I am sucker for those digital cartridges. The seasonal digital exclusives are usually $9.99, and the images are awesome.
Here is a Father's Day card that I made for my Step-Dad, who is a very avid, proud Harley Davidson motorcycle rider.

I love how the card came out. And it will go with the car-themed card I sent him last year. Now I am off to work on a card for my dad and my father-in-law. I hope to show those off soon.
Remember, next Sunday is Father's Day. Better get crafting!
